Wedding Bites: Mr. & Mrs. Taylor

Congratulations Kimberly & Grant!

On Sunday, we had the pleasure of being a part of Kimberly Carl & Grant Taylor’s wedding celebration at City Arts Factory. From the start, we knew this one was going to be unique. Kim and Grant decide to have an Art themed wedding. There were a lot of unique touches to tie the theme all of the way through.

The cocktail hour was downstairs in the different galleries. As the guests were milling around looking at the art, we passed all of their hors d’oeuvres on painters palettes to add to the theme. They also had different genres of music playing on Ipods in each gallery.

The tables were each named after famous artists like Michelangelo, Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol. Each table had framed pieces from the artist it was named after. Kim loves dessert and wanted her guests to start off with something sweet. They made chocolate covered strawberries with a flag that said “Life is short, eat dessert first” that were at each place setting. It was a unique idea that the guests really enjoyed.

It was both the wedding day and the brides birthday. And Grant surprised her with a slice of her favorite cake and sparkling candles. The real surprise was that Kim had also ordered a groom’s cake for Grant that he didn’t know about. It was shaped like a brain and looked very realistic. Thanks to Heather from Tasty Too for both cakes.

Their guest book was a canvas that only had the outline of “ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE”. They asked their guests to help fill in the canvas using all different colored paints. They also created their own photo booth using a lot of fun props, a MAC computer and a great printer. A special thanks to Lee Forrest Design and his team for doing such an amazing job on the flowers. From the ceremony trees with dangling orchids, centerpieces full of floating candles and roses to the bride’s beautiful bouquet, they were breathtaking as always.

A lot of other vendors helped make their day wonderful. Kristy Rapp Events and her team took care of coordinating every detail so that Kim and Grant didn’t have to worry about a thing. Bryan Taylor at Tagas Events kept the party going with great music and accent lighting. Eddie Wilder performed the ceremony. Leigh Taylor took amazing photos of the couple all day long. She even set up a slideshow at the reception for the guests to see of the photos from wedding so far.

All in all, it was a wonderful day and we wish Kim & Grant all the best in their life together!
