Happy Friday Everyone!

So you have had a long week at work and you’re tired and hungry; however, it’s the start of a new year and you promised yourself you were going to be healthier and go out to eat less. It can be so hard to stick to the goals you set for yourself, especially when it’s a Friday night and all you want to do is order a pizza and breadsticks. Wait! Don’t give in and call the pizza man just yet.
We have an easy and healthy recipe to share with you! We won’t lie, it may take a little bit more effort than dialing a number, but you will feel so much better that you didn’t! And the best part is, this happens to be a pizza recipe. Homemade & healthier pizza, does it get any better?

Green Pizza


1 pound of prepared whole wheat pizza dough
2 cups of chopped broccoli
¼ cup of water
5 ounces arugula ,any tough stems removed, chopped, about 6 cups
Pinch of salt
Freshly ground pepper
½ cup of prepared pesto
1 cup of shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese


1. Position the oven rack in the lowest position; preheat to 450°F . Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
2. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about the size of a baking sheet. Transfer to the baking sheet. Bake until puffed and lightly crisped on the bottom, 8 to 10 minutes
3. Meanwhile, cook broccoli and water in a large skillet over medium heat, covered, until the broccoli is crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Stir in arugula and cook, stirring, until wilted, 1 to 2 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Spread pesto evenly over the crust, top with the broccoli mixture and sprinkle with cheese. Bake until crispy and golden and the cheese is melted, 8 to 10 minutes.
